Moog in Brookland

Electronic Music Studio, Female Student, ca. 1960s

In honor of Robert Moog’s birthday, here is a photo from my Catholic University book (courtesy CUA). Emerson Meyers started the Electronic Music Lab there in 1961, and bought one of the first Moog synthesizers in 1967. I took his class and got to play around with it. And no, this girl wasn’t in my class, she was a model the Public Affairs office hired. The Lab was on the second floor of a house at 701 Monroe, now the site of the Monroe Street Market/Abdo construction.
