Great Brookland Yard Sale 2011 Update

As we reported earlier the registration for the Great Brookland Yard Sale is Open

What is the Great Brookland Yard Sale?

The Great Brookland Yard Sale (GBYS), now in its fourth year, is an opportunity for Brooklanders to host yard sales all at the same time, drawing shoppers from across the city.

When is it?

It’s scheduled for Saturday, May 7, from 10am to 2:00pm. (individual yard sale times can vary, of course).

How do I participate in the GBYS?

Easy—have a yard sale on May 7th! Better yet—be included on the official online map (printed maps will be handed out on the day of sale): send an email to BrooklandCivic@yahoo.com with your name/address/saletimes. You can also provide a list of specific items and pictures to draw people to your sale!

How’s it being marketed? Will people show up?

This is a volunteer event; much will be done via the Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association (event coordinators this year), local blogs, the Brookland Listserv, and other outlets. Please share information about the GBYS with your neighbors, other neighborhood listservs, your place of worship, your office, and so on. Get the word out!

Can I help organize the yard sale?

Yes! Volunteers are needed. Just send an email to BrooklandCivic@yahoo.com.

Don’t live in Brookland or don’t have a yard, no problem. You can rent tables at St. Anthony’s on 12th and Lawrence Streets

If you want to Get on the Map send an email to BrooklandCivic@yahoo.com to register, and include a list of items and photos that will be added to the GBYS Google map.
